The Grass Roots Camping Club is an exempted caravan and camping organisation authorised by the Welsh Government to licence an area of suitable land and issue exemption certificates to like-minded land owners who would like to run their own campsite or existing certificated site owners who would like to join us. Our aim is to allow landowners who would like to use their land to provide access to traditional, back to basic, family camp sites at affordable prices for our members

We care about encouraging traditional family, back to basic camping holidays with affordable family membership. We want to promote campsites to allow people to get away from the hustle and bustle, to visit interesting places and to be able to relax and explore our beautiful coastline and country side

We would like to identify safe and suitable locations for people to enjoy and engage with the natural environment and get together in the outdoors with like-minded people
We can arrange a site visit to assess your location for its suitability based on safety, access, impact on neighbours and the facilities you have available. We will consult with neighbours and the relevant planning authority to ensure there are no objections
We can advise on the facilities you provide. The minimum you need is drinking water, chemical disposal point and rubbish bins. Anything else is extra and can be incorporated into your own unique selling point
Upon meeting our criteria you will be issued with an exemption certificate under paragraph 5 valid for up to one year allowing you to run a certificated camp site. You will receive a Grass Roots Camping Club sign to be displayed at the entrance to your site
